Description

Electromode is an independent, family owned business which started off in 1975 in premises on the corner of Blackett Street and Old Eldon Square in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. At that time we were mainly selling and servicing vacuum cleaners and supplying spares for cleaners and other domestic appliances. A second shop was soon opened on Newgate Street dealing in light bulbs and electrical supplies. In 1981 a lighting showroom was opened in Old Eldon Square. City centre redevelopment meant that in 1985 all three enterprises were combined in the existing premises on Gallowgate.
